Tony Mullinax

Reverend Tony Mullinax, age 63, of Mooresboro, passed away from a sudden illness at the Mission Hospital in Asheville.
Born August 23, 1953 in Gaston County, NC, he was a son to the late Edward Patrick Mullinax and Lucy Iowa Davis Mullinax. He worked as a truck driver for Robbins Brick for several years, but his passion was pastoring churches and preaching the Gospel. Throughout a span of many years, he pastored several local churches and was the director of the Rutherford County Ministerial Association. Tony most recently involved with the Living by Faith Outreach Ministry. He loved music and had a heart for helping others.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Darby Lee Mullinax; two brothers and four sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Tonya Mullinax of Harris and a son, Denver Mullinax of Chesnee, SC; sister, Gail Stroupe of Gastonia; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, Kacie Adell Bailes and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Helen Adams, Reverend Eddie Russell and Reverend Michael Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
