Tommy Toms

A. G. "Tommy" Toms, age 87, of Coronado Drive, Charlotte, NC passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. He was born June 5, 1920 in Rutherford County to the late Phillip G. Toms and Lillie Randall Toms. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Edythe Costner Toms. He was a US Army veteran having served during World War II as a Master Sergeant. Tommy worked as a line type operator. He loved gardening, sports and animals. He also enjoyed playing string bass in a band.

Tommy is survived by two daughters, Jane Clark and husband Robin of Charlotte and Kay Toms-Knight of Charlotte; one son, Terry Toms and wife Lou of Matthews; two grandchildren, Travis Toms and Abby Toms; two step grandchildren, Jesse Knight and Daniel Knight; and a sister, Lena Mae Watson of Shiloh, NC
