Tendall Coffey

Tendall Coffey, age 74, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Tendall was born Thursday, August 30, 1951 in Rutherford County to the late Albert Tendall Coffey II and Martha Sue Crowe Coffey. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1969. Tendall served as the Assistant Vice President of yarn manufacturing for the New Cherokee Corporation for twenty-six years and twenty years as the field service manager for Saurer Corporation in Charlotte. He displayed his heart for the community and its youth while serving as the President of the PTA for Alexander Mills School, the President of the Manager Club for Spindale Mills, coached Little League and Senior League baseball for many years and was on the Board of Directors of the Forest City Little League. Tendall enjoyed watching his grandkids play softball and baseball, watching them dance, was an avid golfer, enjoyed writing poems and especially loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Deborah Ann Turner Coffey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Brian Tendall Coffey and Todd Coffey (Jenny) all of Rutherfordton; granddaughters, Hannah Nicole Williams (Spencer) and Haley Elizabeth Dayton Coffey; grandsons, Harrison Todd Coffey and Declan Wyatt Coffey; great grandson, Ryland Tendall Williams; brother, Kenny Coffey (Rhonda) of Danieltown and a special family friend, Nikki Ellenburg of Gilkey.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 6th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
