Ted Newton

Ted Hoover Newton, age 85, of Newton Road, Forest City, NC, died Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Charles George VA Medical Center.
Born December 28, 1928, he was a military veteran and a member of the Union Mills Presbyterian Church. Ted owned and operated the Newton Tree Nursery for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Lucille Newton and Iris Newton.
Survivors include daughter, Susan Ward and husband, Keith of Union Mills; two grandsons, Todd Newton and Chad Newton and wife, Lynn all of Mooresboro. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Tanner's Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend James Koone officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
The family will greet friends immediately following the graveside service at the cemetery.
