Susan H. Goode

Susan H. Goode, age 60, of Forest City, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

Susan was born Friday, December 3, 1965 in Rutherford County. She worked in textiles for several years and later for Walmart. Susan enjoyed reading the Bible and loved her family above everything else.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Joan Duncan Wright and by brothers, Vincent and James Hamrick.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of forty-four years, David Goode; brother, Anthony Hamrick (Misty) of Ruth and sister, Mechella Murphy (Dean) of Forest City; nieces, Jessi Epley, Natalie Slocum (Tyler) and Madison Gordon; nephews, Waylon Murphy, Jay Hamrick and Clay Hamrick; great nieces, Corrinna, Cadence, Carrigan and a great nephew, Jackson.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 13th at Southern Baptist Church. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church.
