Shirley Stanley Honeycutt, age 90, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Shirley was born Sunday, September 1, 1935 in Spartanburg County, SC to the late Lacy Stanley and Essie Blackwell Stanley. She worked for Stonecutter and John H. Montgomery Mills for several years and later retired from Michelin Tire Manufacturing. Shirley was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She had a tender heart toward all children and especially loved her children and grandchildren. Shirley expressed her love by cooking delicious meals and her greatest joy in life was to know that each of her family was taken care of. She was the most giving person anyone could ever have known.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Charles Honeycutt; a grandson, Jason Seagle; five brothers and one sister.
Those left to honor her legacy include her son, Donald Honeycutt (Jane) of Rutherfordton; daughters, Becky Seagle of Harris, Diane Robbins (Wayne Jones) of Ellenboro, Debra Honeycutt of Harris; her beloved grandchildren, Manuel Seagle (Michelle), Stephen Raya (Sally), Nick Raya, Kendra Harmon (Jody), Chelsea McQueen (Stephen), Greata Honeycutt and Brian Honeycutt; ten great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Monday, August 3rd at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. A private interment will follow at Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery. She will lie in state from 12:00 until 5:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
