Sherry Skipper Gragg

Sherry Skipper Gragg, age 78, of Rutherfordton, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Sherry was born Tuesday, March 9, 1948 in Rutherford County to the late Joseph Skipper and Cordie Huntsinger Skipper. She retired from Broyhill Furniture Mfg. after thirty-nine years of faithful work. Sherry was a member of West Point Baptist Church and was currently attending Spindale Fellowship Holiness. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with friends and family. Sherry also enjoyed listening to preaching and gospel singing on the radio. Above all she loved spending time with her family and especially the family getting together for a Sunday dinner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Johnny Gragg; daughter, Teresa Gragg and siblings, J.C. Skipper, Kathleen Lynch, Ben Skipper, Jerry Skipper and Grady Skipper.

Those left to honor her legacy include her daughter, Tammy Walker (Donald) of Bostic; brother, Robert Skipper of Ellenboro; grandchildren, Kayla Simmons (Paul) and Cody Carver (Brittany); great grandchildren, Addison, Lynda, Bentley, Paislie, Brystal; special nephews, Alan Lynch, Earl Mace and special niece, Lisa Epley.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 2nd at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Chad Sisk officiating. Interment will follow at West Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
