Obituary

Seth Cole, age 30, of Mooresboro, passed away at home on Sunday, February 8, 2026. While addiction may be listed as what ended his life, it was never what defined it. Seth had many roles in his 30 years and two weeks — son, brother, father, grandson, husband, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was an employee, a proud dog dad, a hunter, a ball player, and so many other things. But above all else, Seth was a man who loved deeply and lived fully. He leaves behind Kaisley, his six-year-old daughter, who was the light of his life and the greatest joy he ever knew. Everything Seth did, he did with intensity and heart — and that included loving his little girl. Seth possessed a zeal for life and a sense of adventure that could not be contained. Born on what seemed like fast forward, he packed more life into 30 years than many do in 80. He didn’t do anything halfway — he was always all in. Whether he was riding dirt bikes full speed (sometimes on one wheel), hunting just about anything, or playing softball any time of day or night, Seth showed up with passion and enthusiasm. He was an avid softball player and competitor, but he carried that same energy into everyday life. You could often find him with his head full of wild, long, curly hair and a smile that stretched from ear to ear, lighting up every room he entered. He bounced from task to task, determined to talk to and encourage everyone he met. There was nothing Seth wouldn’t’t do for the people he loved. Seth had a heart that was genuine, caring, and tender beneath his adventurous spirit. If you looked closely enough, you could see it reflect Jesus. He was saved — a child of God — and his faith was real. Seth did not cower in a corner and let addiction win. He fought it every step of the way. Though he did not receive the full healing we prayed for on this side of Heaven, we rest in the promise that he is whole today. Addiction did not win. Salvation won. The love of a holy and mighty God for His child won. Seth is home — more whole than he has ever been — safe in the arms of Jesus, free from pain, free from struggle, and fully restored. He will be remembered for his enormous smile, his wild curls, his fierce love, his adventurous spirit, and the way he lived — truly lived — every single day he was given.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ronnie and Diane Cole, Jimmy Davis and Alvin Frady; uncle, Ronnie Cole, Jr; cousins, Kevin Cole, Bridget Cole, Molly Justice and a special friend, Lucas Cole.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brittany Cole; daughters, Kaisley Cole, Zoey Wyatt, Jordie Wyatt and Peyton Wyatt; his parents, Barry and Christie Cole of Mooresboro; grandmother, Pam Davis of Mooresboro,; brother, Braeden Cole; his first love, Hailey O’Dell of Mooresboro; aunts and uncles, Gary and Elizabeth Cole, Angie and Marcus Greene, Becky Cole (Justin), Phyllis Cole (Joe), Tim Cole (Diane), Craig Davis, Renee Cole, Clint Cole, Michael Greene (Jennifer); cousins, Aden Duncan, Phillip Duncan, Jamie Davis (Haley), Brad Cole (Katie), Ashley Cole, Anthony Cole, Josh Cole, Joseph Cole, Brian Cole, Jennifer Mosely, Jon Quinn, Landon Greene, Dillion Deese, Amber Justice and Ashley Rollins.

Seth was a member of Prospect Baptist Church where he was loved deeply by his church family. A celebration of Seth’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 14th at Prospect Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Elmore officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church.

To bring recovery to those who deal with addiction, memorial donations are requested to the Seth Cole Memorial Fund, 2610 Prospect Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114 or to SECU Savings Account for Kaisley Cole.
