Ronny Steve Parris, age 70, of Forest City, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at his residence.
Born April 20, 1946 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, he was the son of James Winfred Parris and Hathleen Holcombe Parris. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Ronny Dale Parris; father, James Winfred Parris; and a brother, Hugh Parris.
Ronny was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and retired from Duke Power after 35 years of service. He was a United States Navy Vietnam veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lunnette Towery Parris; mother, Hathleen Holcombe Parris; granddaughter, Mindy Cash and her husband Chris; grandson, Mitchell Dale Parris and his fiancé Brittnye Evans. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Austin Charles Cash, Clinton Dale Cash and Aiden Dale Parris.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at Harrelson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, 374 Hudlow Rd, Forest City, NC 28043
