Roger Dale Pleasant

Roger Dale Pleasant, age 80, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Atrium Health in Charlotte.

Roger was born Saturday, November 2, 1946 in Rutherford County to the late Loyd Franklin Pleasant, Sr. and Pearl Owens Parker Pleasant. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1964. Roger was the Head Loom Fixer at Cone Mill-Haynes Plant for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid UNC Tar Heels and Atlanta Braves fan. Roger most recently enjoyed going to the Rutherford County Senior Center where he excelled in billiards. He had the distinction of being a four time billiard state champion in his age category during the Senior Games. Roger loved his family dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Lavonda Sailors Pleasant; infant son, Christopher Pleasant; brother, Loyd Franklin Pleasant, Jr. and sister, Patricia Perkins.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Kevin Pleasant (Jennifer) of Forest City; granddaughter, Amberlyn Austin and many extended family members.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Joe Irvin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
