Robert Ponder

Robert Marshall Ponder, Sr., age 54, of Bostic, NC, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
Robert was born April 13, 1956 in McDowell County, NC to the late Ray Ponder, Jr. and Blanche Cureton Ponder. He worked in textiles as a mechanic for several years and was a truck driver for All Bright Sanitation.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one nephew, Brian Ponder.
Besides his mother, survivors include his wife of 35 years, Peggy Hardin Ponder; two sons, Michael Ponder of Bostic and Robert Marshall Ponder, Jr. of Forest City; one daughter, Carol Ann Williams and husband, Mickey of Ellenboro; two brothers, David Ponder and wife, Jenis of Bostic and Billy Ray Ponder and wife, Chris of Rutherfordton; one sister Barbara Conner and husband, Gene of Lake Lure; five grandchildren, Hunter Ponder, Paige Ponder, Dylan Williams, Ashley Williams and Josh Williams. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
