Rita Hudgins

Rita Mode Hudgins, age 62, of Rutherfordton, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017.
Born June 14, 1955 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the Pauline Duncan Robbins. Rita was an avid NASCAR fan. She was Jeff Gordon's #1 fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Hudgins; and a granddaughter, Breanna Hudgins.
Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Roger Dale Hudgins and wife Karen, Lori Smith and husband Joseph, Shane Hudgins; mother, Pauline Duncan Robbins; two brothers, Terry Mode and wife Joann, Greg Mode and wife Beverly. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Nick Hudgins, Brooke Hudgins, Austin Smith and Kaleigh Smith.
A funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Rev. Leon Brown and Rev. Chad Sisk officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be private.
