Rita Davis

Rita Davis, age 69, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Rita was born Monday, April 15, 1957 in Rutherford County to the late Joe Tesseneer and Alberta Crotts Tesseneer. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family dearly. Rita enjoyed going out shopping and was a butterfly enthusiast. She attended Long Branch Road Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Lynch and brother, Ricky Tesseneer.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of forty-nine years, Steve Davis; her beloved daughter, Tammy Wingo (Bobby) of Forest City; siblings, Bobby Tesseneer (Debbie) of Rutherfordton, Nadine Bailey of Forest City, Roger Tesseneer (Kay) of Forest City, Darlene Roper of Rutherfordton, Mike Tesseneer (Kim) of Ellenboro, Sandy Dunkle (Donnie) of Forest City; grandchildren, Steven Downey and Kera Wingo.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 29th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
