Reverend Jerry Ruppe

Reverend Jerry Ruppe, age 83, of Bostic, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Jerry was born Monday, August 30, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Henry Ruppe and Pearl Melton Ruppe. He was the owner and operator of Ruppe’s Auto Body Shop for forty years. His greatest desire was to serve the Lord and ministered as the Pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Golden Valley for thirty-six years. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball as a shortstop. Above all he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a special brother-in-law, Jimmy Jolley.

Those left to honor his legacy include his wife of forty-six years, Freida Ruppe; daughters, Darlene Gilbert, Lisa Ruppe and Donna McNeily; son, Scott Ruppe and sister, Myrle Mills. He is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 28th at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Golden Valley with Reverend Joshua Lindsey and Reverend Jackie Price officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
