“All I Ever Really Wanted Was to See My Son”

Nathaniel “Nate” Sizemore, age 35, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby following a lengthy illness.

Nate was born Thursday, September 13, 1990 in Rutherford County to Holly Morgan and the late Pete Sizemore.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator and laying pipeline for various road construction projects. Nate loved animals and was known as a “people person.” He leaves behind a host of close and special friends who he loved dearly.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his Papa, Grover Taylor.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Holly Morgan; son, Caleb Sizemore of Boiling Springs, NC; grandmother, Wanda Taylor of Shelby; stepfather, Gordon Morgan of Rutherfordton; stepmother, Betsy Sizemore of Glen Rogers, West Virgina; siblings, Gregory Sizemore (Ericka) of Shelby, Kaitlyn Davis (Justin) of Boiling Springs, NC, Courtney Sizemore of Glen Rogers, WV, Carissa Sizemore of Glen Rogers, WV and several nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of Nate’s life will be held on a later date.
