Minnie Scism-Dulaney, age 77, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026 at her home.

Minnie was born Monday, July 12, 1948 in Cleveland County to the late Joseph Pinkley Scism and Ruby Leigh Scism. She was a graduate of Shelby High School, class of 1967 and later earned an associates degree from Isothermal Community College. She worked for National Textiles and Watts Regulator for many years and most recently was a personal caretaker in home healthcare. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed sewing, craftwork, puzzles, collecting and baking cakes. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Chuck Lemons and Joseph Pinkley Scism, Jr.; sister, Priscilla Pearson and a grandson, Steven Talmadge Dulaney.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Shannon Dulaney (Tammy) of Vale, NC, Shane Dulaney of Rutherfordton, Jamie Queen of Spartanburg and Travis Queen (Cheryl) of Mooresboro; brother, John Wayne Scism (Teresa) of Shelby; sister, Suzan Beatty of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Shannon Dulaney, Elizabeth Queen, Daniel Dulaney, Jacob Queen (Stesha), Dustin Dulaney, Jaden Queen and Avery McCarty; great grandchildren, Serenity Queen and Oaklynn Marylee Smart.

A family gathering to honor Minnie’s life will take place on a date to be announced.
