Mildred Harris

Mildred H. Harris, age 93, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Oak Grove Nursing Center in Rutherfordton.

Mildred was born July 30, 1926 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Lonnie Hunt and Vernie Prophes Hunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Darlene May; brother, Alva Ray Hunt of Forest City and a sister, Louise L Watkins of Golden Valley.

Those left to cherish her memory include grandson, Montey Gahan of Lockport, NY; great-granddaughter, Trisha Gahan and great-great-grandson, Carter. She is also survived by brother J.T. Hunt of Golden Valley; sister, Barbara Jena Bumgarner of Golden Valley and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
