Mary Wynn Bostic

Mary Wynn Bostic, age 84, of Mooresboro, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Hilltop Health and Rehabilitation in Rutherfordton.

Mary was born Friday, February 13, 1942 in Spartanburg County, SC to the late Jake Willis Wynn and Maybelle Davis Wynn. She worked at Cone Mills-Cliffside for many years and was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. She enjoyed working on crafts, needlepoint and cooking for her family. Above all she loved spending time with her family. Mary had a big heart and was always willing to help those in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Johnny E. Bostic; brothers, J.W. Wynn, Everette Wynn and a sister, Rosalee Mize.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Darlene Cockerham (Lester) of Mooresboro; son, Steven Edward Bostic of Cliffside; grandchildren, Haley Cockerham Williams (Eric), Deni Leigh Cockerham (Wesley Moses); great grandchildren, Lillie Williams, Maverick Williams, Adleigh Buchanan; seven nieces and nephews which includes a special niece, Sandy Warren and husband, Johnny.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 3rd at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Mike Elgin officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. At other times they will be gathered at 2541 Barnes Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114.
