Mary Peterson

Mary Lucy Peterson, age 82, of 804 East Main Street, Cherryville, NC, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Carolina Specialty Hospital in Charlotte. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Augustus Watts and Annar Butler Watts. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and was known for being a loving mother and a wonderful cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Jennings and by six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Reverend C.L. 'Pete' Peterson; two daughters, Brenda Hunsucker and her husband Ken of Cherryville and Rita Hester and her husband Larry of Pelham, AL; one son, Reverend Danny Peterson and his wife Tina of Marion, NC; one brother, Theron Watts of Ellenboro, NC; six grandchildren, Chad Jennings, Natasha Vickers, Brandon Hunsucker, Dr. Haley Perry, Hayden Peterson and Emiley Peterson; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
