Marjorie Vickers

Marjorie D. Vickers, age 80, of Henrietta, NC, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at Hospice House.
Marjorie was born April 15, 1932 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Sam Durham and Vina Byers Durham. She worked in textiles most of her life and retired from Cone Mills. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family and collecting dolls. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Madelyn 'Dib' Jones, Katie 'Kay, Kay' McDaniel, Mary 'Top' McCraw and by one great grandson, Travis Vickers.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Joseph W. Vickers, Sr.; two sons, Joe W. Vickers, Jr. and wife, Rosa and Ricky D. Vickers and wife, Wanda all of Henrietta; one brother, Bud Durham of Dearborn, MI; one sister, Alta Mae Thomas of Gaffney, SC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and many precious nieces and nephews.
