Linda Brooks Monteith

Linda Brooks Monteith, age 74, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at her home.

Linda was born Sunday, May 13, 1951 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late Hugh Brooks and Dorothy Barron. She worked at Watts Regulator and Foothills Plastic Mfg. for many years before retirement. Linda was a longtime member of Alexander Missionary Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Gonzales; stepmother, Sarah Brooks; son, Eddie Gonzales; brother, Steve Brooks and a sister, Gail Giroux.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband of thirty-eight years, Ray Monteith; daughter, Jennifer Hodge (Curtis) of Forest City; sons, Wayne Brooks (Charlotte) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ronald Gonzales of Forest City, Rodney Deal of Spindale and J.B. Franklin of Forest City; sister, Cheryl Bryant of Ellenboro; brother, William “Bill” Brooks (Phyllis) of Lake Placid, Florida; grandchildren, Katrina Michael, Renee Hodge, Terri Brooks, Amber Brooks, Tony Brooks, Rodney Deal III; great grandchildren, Kapyn Brooks, Xayn Daniels, Eli Cortez and Jade Hodge.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 6th at the Mt. Hebron Church with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
