Leonard Henderson

Leonard James Henderson, age 83, of McGinnis Road, Forest City, NC died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Oak Grove Health Care.

Leonard was born May 28, 1928 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Mannie Henderson and Elizabeth Lamb Henderson. He worked for Cone Mills for 48 years before his retirement and was a charter member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, gardening and was a ham radio enthusiast. He especially loved spending time with his grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Bessie Virginia Henderson and by six sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include his son, Terry Henderson and wife, Kim of Rutherfordton and one grandson, Drew Henderson also of Rutherfordton.
