Lavonda Sailors Pleasant

Lavonda Sailors Pleasant, age 80, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Lavonda was born Sunday, June 4, 1944 in Cleveland County to the late Ernest “Shorty” Sailors and Annie Mae Hollifield Sailors. She worked in textiles for many years and retired from the Haynes Plant. Lavonda enjoyed going to the Rutherford County Senior Center and participating in the activities. She especially enjoyed working with arts and crafts projects. She was a dedicated wife and mother and loved listening to her son’s time on the local radio station WCAB. Lavonda was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Pleasant; brothers, Jay, Jim and Lawrence Sailors; sisters, Burene Arrowood, Marilyn Hubbard, Patsy Hollifield, Evelyn Goode and Annie Mae Faircloth.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of over fifty-five years, Roger Pleasant; son, Kevin Pleasant (Jennifer Carver) of Forest City; granddaughter, Amberlyn Austin; sisters, Rosemary Barkley and Kathy McCloskey.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 15th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Joe Irvin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
