Kenneth Lowery

Kenneth 'Sonny' Lowery, age 64, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC.
Sonny was born on June 7, 1946 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Norman Lee Lowery and Clara Taylor Lowery. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked in management for many years, having managed Quincy's Restaurant for 17 years and Daniel Furniture. He was a faithful member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church and enjoyed working, watching sports and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Dillon Andrew Lowery.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Shirley Rash Lowery; four daughters, Tammy Killen and husband, Randy of Unicoi, TN, Alisha Fowler of Forest City, Sonya Crawford and husband, Todd of Rutherfordton and Kim Grindstaff and husband, Greg of Bakersville, NC; three sisters, Shelby Jean Greene of Gaffney, Linda Hardin and husband, Mick of Caroleen and Brenda Davis and friend, Steven Vaughan of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Ashley Wilson and husband, Michael, David Fowler, Johnny Wall, Brittany Fowler, Josh Wall, Makayla Crawford, Amber Blackburn, Leah Blackburn, Mackenzie Crawford, Andre Killen; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Yelton, Marisa Yelton and Brayden Fowler.
