Kay Dobbins Greene, age 91, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Fair Haven Home in Bostic.

Kay was born Sunday, December 30, 1934 in Rutherford County to the late Robert Henry “Bob” Dobbins and Ethel White Dobbins. She was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1953. Kay worked in management and sales for Tupperware for over forty years and was a Special Education Instructor for Isothermal Community College. She was an active and faithful member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was also a longtime member of the Red Hatters Club. She was dedicated to her God, her family and her church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Charles William Greene; sister, Bobbie Jean Rhymer and a son-in-law, Adrian “Lucky” Rogers.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Arlene Rogers of Conway, SC; son, Allen W. Greene (Tonda) of Forest City; grandchildren, Kristina Cook, Carla Parker, Kevin Ervin (Ginger), Christopher Ervin; four great grandchildren and a special niece and nephew, Danita Beard and Robbie Rhymer.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 28th at Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Frazier and Reverend Robert Carnell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Fair Haven and Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their kindness and compassion bestowed up Kay during her time with them.
