J.V. Bowen

J.V. Bowen, age 69, of Boss Moore Road, Ellenboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Rutherford Health Care System-Rutherfordton.
Born December 26, 1947 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Glenn Bowen and Pantha Waters Bowen. He was a truck driver for many years, having worked for Hardin's Trucking for over seventeen years. J.V. was a member of Heaven Bound Baptist Church and an avid car racing fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Dalton Bowen; two sisters, Betty Whisnant and Hazel Shell and a brother Jr. Bowen.
Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Regina Weaver and husband, Ronnie and Jamie Absher all of Ellenboro; one son, Chris Bowen of Sunshine; a brother, Bobby Bowen and wife, Geneva of Bostic. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be conducted from 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Harrelson Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at Sandy Level Baptist Church.
