Julie Scruggs

Julie Scruggs, age 68, of Ellenboro, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at her home.

Julie was born Thursday, September 19, 1957 in Rutherford County to the late Molt Edwards and Mafra Silvers Edwards. She was the co-owner and operator of Scruggs Body Shop and worked for Munsey Homes in construction. Julie attended Homeward Bound Baptist Church and enjoyed photography, arts & crafts, listening to music, drawing and going camping with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cedric Edwards.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joe Dean Scruggs; daughter, Angela Crystal Danielson of Forest City; son, Joseph Daniel Scruggs of Ellenboro; brothers, Ralph Edwards, Bookter Edwards and Steve Edwards; grandchildren, Curtis Greene (Brittney), Billy Greene (Elizabeth), Cody Lee Greene (Kerry), Coren Scruggs and Jade Scruggs; great grandchildren, Liam Greene, Emma Greene, Haper Greene and Ivey Greene.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 20th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Allen Terry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
