Joyce Edwards Hutchins

Joyce Edwards Hutchins, age 86, of Forest City, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Fairhaven Home of Forest City.

Joyce was born Saturday, January 21, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late Dewey Doc Edwards and Annie Sue Trout Edwards. She was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1958 and worked for Stonecutter Mill for thirty-eight years. Joyce was a longtime and faithful member of Goodes Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a GA leader. She loved her church and her church family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Clyde James Hutchins; brothers, Clark Edwards, Bobby Edwards and sister, Shirley Holland.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Edward Allen Hutchins and wife, Lisa of Forest City and a sister, Mary Wall of Star, SC.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 11th at Goodes Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Hubert Street and Reverend Dale Welch officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
