Joseph Scott

Joseph D. Scott, age 61, of Forest City, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at his residence.
Born April 20, 1953 in Rock Hill, SC, he was a son of the late Jack Moses Scott and Naomi Patterson Scott. He worked as an electrician for J. Frank Blakely Company for twenty-eight years and enjoyed tinkering with cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Scott, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years, Patsy B. Scott; step-mother, Maggie Allison Scott of Hendersonville; daughter, Alisa M. McLaughlin and husband, Sammy of Swannanoa, NC; four sons, Joseph Smith and wife, Connie of Shelby, Shannon McCall of Fletcher, Brandon E. Smith of Marion and Bruce Cantrell of Forest City; three grandchildren, Samantha McIntosh and husband, Jarod, Sarah McLaughlin, Cody Cantrell and one great-granddaughter, Karter McIntosh. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Ann Perez, Pearl Holbert; four brothers, Edward Lee Scott, George Robert Scott, John Daniel Scott and Albert Eugene Scott; four half-sisters, Jackie Scott, Dale Scott, Karen Jones, Susie Yancey; two half-brothers, Johnny Scott, David Saunders and a number of step-brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Robbie Leighton officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
