Johnny Womick

Johnny Sherrill Womick, age 62, of Ferry Road, Forest City, died Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Born August 15, 1955 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Earl Womick and Annie Elmore Womick. He worked for Butler Auto Parts for many years and was an all-around handy man. Johnny was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Mooresboro and an avid car racing fan.
Survivors include two brothers, Ronnie Womick and wife, Bonnie of Rutherfordton and Terry Womick and wife, Debbie of Forest City; two nieces, Morgan Womick of Charlotte and Staci Roche and husband, Mark of Mooresboro. He is also survived by three great-nephews, James, Jackson and Nathaniel Roche.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Mr. Heath Bridges officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Deaton, Brent Butler, Rodney Butler, Brian Krietemeyer, Braxton Andrews and Timmy Powell.
Memorial donations are respectfully requested to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
