John Cooley

John Kelley Cooley, Sr., age 60, of 136 Whistle Drive, Henrietta, NC, died Saturday, June 06, 2009 at his residence.
A native of Spartanburg County, SC, he was a son of the late Joe B. Cooley and Ruby Ann Barrett Cooley. John was a veteran, having served six years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later served on the submarine tender, USS Howard W. Gilmore. He was a commercial painter for over 26 years and worked for Ford Painting. He also enjoyed fishing and was a member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Shelby Miller Cooley; two daughters, Sueann Cooley of Henrietta and Ronda Risener of Georgia; two sons, John Kelley Cooley, Jr. and Matt Cooley both of Henrietta; two sisters, Nancy Dillard of Spartanburg, SC and Joann Daigle of Houston, TX; one brother, William Cooley of Sumter, SC. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Summer Quinn, Snow Quinn, Alexis McCarson, Kamryn Cooley and Joseph Cooley.
