Jimmy was born Sunday, August 22, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Willie Moore and Nellie Scruggs Moore. He was a graduate of Chase High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Jimmy worked as a supervisor for Watts Regulator for over twenty-five years, before his retirement. He loved travelling with his wife, boating, watching NASCAR and taking trips to the mountains. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Nancy “Joan” Moore; son, David Moore; brothers, Charles, Vick, Bobby and Vernon Moore; sisters, Kathy Harris, Diane Henson and Helen Moore.
Those left to honor his legacy include his daughter, Tonya Bennett (Brian) of Union Mills; sons, Greg “Bo” Moore (Tish) of Cowpens, SC and Tracy Moore (Lorrie) of Ellenboro; daughter-in-law, Laurie Moore of Forest City; grandchildren, Nicole Fowler (Zack), Michael Moore, Jordan Moore, Bailey Allison, Bryson Moore, Autumn Moore, Kayla Allen (Drew), Hunter Bennett and great grandchildren, Alexis Moore and Raiden Jenkins.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 18th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Mr. Marshall Turner giving the eulogy. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors being provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
