Jessie M. Taylor, age 84, of Spindale, passed away in Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Willow Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born August 30, 1932 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Clyde E. Murray and Alpha Greene Murray. She was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1950. Jessie worked as a phone operator for Southern Bell and also worked for Revco Drugs. Jessie was a manager of the Drop In Convenience store for several years. She was a past member of Glenwood Baptist Church and of Crestview Baptist Church. She delighted in oil painting, flower gardening and fishing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of forty-two years, Thomas Edwin Taylor and a daughter, Wanda June Taylor.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda West of Spindale; son, Allen Steve Taylor of Ruth; grandchildren, Joshua Green of Forest City and Stephanie West of Ellenboro; two brothers, Troy Murray of Forest City and Clyde Murray of Alabama. She is also survived by a great-grandson, Skyler West.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
