Janet Faye Canipe Lowery

Janet Faye Canipe Lowery, age 70, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025 at her home while under Hospice Care.

Janet was born Monday, May 16, 1955 in Rutherford County to the late William Baxter Canipe and Melva Henson Canipe. She was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1974. Janet worked in textiles for many years, having worked at the Burlington and J.C. Cowan Plants. She enjoyed flower gardening and pour painting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Janet was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Virgil Canipe, Louise Padgett, Pauline Padgett, Steve Canipe and Hazel Dills.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-two years, James Lowery; daughter, Nichole Johnson (Nate) of Rutherfordton; granddaughters, Chloe Johnson and Abbie Johnson; sisters Betty Robertson of Santee, SC, Marie Adkins of Forest City, Kathy Hoyle of Rutherfordton and a brother, David Canipe (Teresa) of Chesnee, SC.

The funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 29th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
