James Edward Kimbrell, Sr.

James Edward Kimbrell, Sr., age 85, died Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.

James was born Saturday, October 1, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late Joseph Archie Kimbrell and Lillian Phillips Kimbrell. He managed the Pea Ridge Convenience Center for several years. He was also a carpenter for various textile mills for many years. James loved working with wood and enjoyed building anything and everything. He enjoyed a good game of shooting pool and going fishing. Above all he loved his family dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Juanita Kimbrell; son, Jeff Kimbrell; brothers, Joe Kimbrell, Tommy Kimbrell, Kenneth “Babe” Kimbrell and sister, Nancy Waters.

Those left to treasure his memory are his two sons, James Edward Kimbrell, Jr. (Teresa) of Forest City and Jerry Lee Kimbrell (Tammy) of Forest City; brother, Earl Kimbrell of Sandy Mush; grandchildren, Jason Kimbrell (Amy), Christopher Kimbrell, Ashley Hayes (Rob), Josh Ervin (Heather), Jeremy Ervin (Shana), Jonathan Kimbrell, Casey McFarland (John), Taylor Hawkins (Nicolas), ten great-grandchildren and his fur baby, Brownie.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 8^th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Anna Tate Coffey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
