Jacob Lenly Campbell, age 26, of Oakboro, NC, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026 at his home.
Jacob was born Monday, December 27, 1999 in Rutherford County to David Campbell and Donna Ruppe. He was a graduate of Central Cabarrus County High School, class of 2018. Jacob worked for Taylor Pump and Lift Company of Concord since 2018. He enjoyed the outdoors and exploring nature, which included hiking and camping. He also expressed his artistic talent through drawings, paintings, design sewing and decorative woodburning. His passion was his 1998 Mustang. Jacob was known as a jokester and his ability to always lighten the moment with his sense of humor. He was the type of person who could fix anything and used this ability to help others in need. Above everything, he delighted in being the “big brother” to his siblings. He will forever be remembered and loved by all who knew him. His life’s mantra was, “Just Breathe, You are Loved.”
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cindy Campbell and great grandparents, L.C. and Mary Ruppe.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Donna Ruppe of Mooresboro; father, David Campbell (Angie) of Morganton; siblings, Morgan Cobb of Morganton, Logan Cobb (C.J.) of Morganton, Adrianne Campbell McNeill (Jaden) of Concord, Steven Hendren of Mooresboro, Jordan Campbell of Morganton and Madison Ruppe of Mooresboro; grandparents, Cecil and Jackie Ruppe of Bostic; grandfather, Daniel Campbell of Forest City and great grandmother, Eunice Campbell of Henrietta; niece, Lynnly Cobb; a soon to be born nephew, Walker McNeill and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 29th at Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Jaden McNeill and Bishop Jason Boyd officiating. There will be time given for those who wish to speak about Jacob during the service. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
