Irene Splawn

Irene Morrow Splawn, age 84, of Oakland Road, Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Irene was born on June 19, 1926 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Elmer 'Buddy' Morrow and Laura Warlick Morrow. She was a past member of Alexander Baptist Church and a current and faithful member of Florence Baptist Church. She worked in textiles for many years and most recently as a bus monitor for the Rutherford County Public Schools. Irene enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Odell Splawn; one son, Larry Splawn; four brothers, Charles Morrow, Jack Morrow, Jerry Morrow, Joe Morrow and three sisters, Ruth Moore, Martha McDaniel and Betty Bostic.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Splawn, Lisa Splawn and Lauren Yelton and husband, Mike, all of Forest City; five sisters, Rosie Bridges, Rebecca Davis, Linda Vallecillo all of Forest City, Susan Dycus of Harris and Donna Roach of Ellenboro; five grandchildren, James Splawn and John Splawn both of Cliffside, Joe Splawn of Greensboro, NC, Will Yelton and Anna Yelton both of Forest City; four great-grandchildren, Zach Splawn, Liz Splawn, Adam Splawn and McKiah Splawn all of Cliffside. She is also survived by a host of nephews and nieces.
