Irene Piercy

Irene Bailey Piercy, age 83, formerly of Ellenboro, NC and a resident of Carolina House died Saturday, February 19, 2011 in Forest City.
Irene was born on March 10, 1927 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Robert Cornelius Bailey and Martha Bell Van Dyke Bailey. She worked in textiles most of her life before retiring from Cone Mills. She enjoyed crocheting and had a desire to serve others. She was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Piercy and two brothers, Ernest Bailey and William Bailey.
Survivors include her brother, Cleophus 'Bud' Bailey and wife, Odessa of Bostic; one sister in-law, Virnell Bailey of Rutherfordton. She is also survived by four nephews and two nieces.
