Helen McSwain

Helen McSwain, age 81, of Bostic, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2026 at the Fairhaven Home in Bostic.

Helen was born Friday, October 26, 1945 in Spartanburg County, SC to the late George Demetriou and Norma Ridgeway Demetriou. She was a graduate of Cecil’s Business College and worked for the Mecklenburg County Register of Deeds as a Clerk for many years until her retirement. Helen was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of Florence Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-nine years, Don McSwain; a brother, Nelson Demetriou of Spartanburg and a host of cousins.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 5th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
