Helen Hampton

Helen Marie Hampton, age 67, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at her residence.
Born March 16, 1947 in Polk County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Jeff Oliver and Julia Hammett Oliver. She worked in various textile mills most of her life and retired from J.C. Cowan. She was a member of Green Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed watching birds, working on word puzzles and especially spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, L.B. Oliver, J.C. Oliver, Fay Oliver and sister, Jo Taylor.
Survivors include her husband of forty-seven years, Bill Hampton; daughter, Rhonda Hampton Ruff and husband, Bud; sister, Judy Lane; two grandchildren, Billy Ruff and Harley Ruff all of Rutherfordton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Green Hill Baptist Church with Reverend John Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
