Gregory "Bubba" Swofford

     Gregory “Bubba” Swofford, age 56, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 at his residence.

      Bubba was born Friday, March 3, 1967 in Rutherford County to the late William Eugene Swofford and Jennie Wheeler Swofford. He loved to travel and go on vacations, especially to Dollywood.  Bubba was of the Baptist faith.  He graduated from Gardner-Webb University with an Associate’s Degree in Social Science.  Bubba had a good heart and had a passion to help others. 

     Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty-one years Tawanna Swofford; a brother, Matthew (Kayren) Swofford; children, Joeline Brown and Dave Cox Jr., nieces and nephews, Ashely (Travis) Searcy, Presley (Chris) Jones, Tristin (Grace) Swofford, Landon (Ali) Swofford; great nieces and nephews, Jackson Searcy, Trace and Lainey Swofford, and Kimberlyn and Kolsen Jones.

     A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, December 12^th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bryan Melton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of the service.
