Geraldine Gibson

Geraldine Gibson, age 83, of Ellenboro, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Fair Haven Home in Forest City.

Geraldine was born Thursday, April 30, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Clemie Terry and Jeanette Davidson Terry. She faithfully worked in the lunchroom at East Rutherford Middle School for twenty years before retirement. Geraldine was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her yard. She loved flower gardening and always kept her house and yard neat and clean.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Campbell, Sr.; a twin sister, Maxine Greene and siblings, C.B. Terry, D.L. Terry, Jerry Terry, Tilley Probst, Brenda Manley, Nellie Condrey and Carolyn Curtis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Scott Campbell (Karen) of Ellenboro and J.D. Campbell (Kim) of Sunshine; brother, Bruce Terry of Ellenboro; grandchildren, Eric Campbell, Lindsey Causby (Robbie), Ty Campbell (Stacey), Hope Campbell and Justin Campbell; great grandchildren, Sadie Causby, Felicity Causby, Evie Campbell, Railey Causby and Leland Campbell.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Mike Conner and Reverend David Jendry officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
