Gearldine "Jerry" Nancy Bailey

Gearldine “Jerry” Nancy Bailey, age 88, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Fair Haven Home of Forest City where she was a resident.

Jerry was born on Thursday, September 24, 1936, in Rutherford County, to the late Fred Nix and Nora Mills Nix. She was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1954, and later earned her associate’s degree from Isothermal Community College. Jerry worked at Skyland Textiles for twenty-six years and later worked as a beautician at B. Lovely Hair Salon for nearly twenty years. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and enjoyed bowling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Rocky Turner.

Those left to treasure the memories of her life include her son, Marshall Turner (Peggy), Sandy Mush; sister, Jean Morrow, of Danieltown; granddaughters, Keisha Swink (Anthony), and Joy Turner; great-grandchildren, Austin Turner (Megan), Preston James (Lauren), Grace Turner, Katie Turner, Brock Duncan, and Sarah Duncan; and great-great-grandchildren, Brody Turner, Braxton Swink, and Turner James.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19th at Harrelson Funeral Home with Reverend Preston James officiating. Interment will follow in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service time. At other times, they will be gathered at the home of Marshall Turner.
