Gail Toney

Gail Toney, age 80, of Boiling Springs, SC, formerly of Forest City, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at the Wesley Court Assisted Living in Boiling Springs.

Gail was born Sunday, April 15, 1945 to the late Gaston Bailey and Virginia Godfrey Bailey. She was a graduate of the Isothermal Community College Nursing program and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Gardner-Webb University. Gail worked for over thirty-three years as an LPN, Registered Nurse and an Occupational Nurse. She was a faithful member of Providence Methodist Church. Gail was especially known for her cooking skills, deemed by her family as “The World’s Best Cook.” Her chicken pie, macaroni & cheese and peach cobbler were just some of her specialties. She also enjoyed playing the piano and crocheting. Her love for her family was paramount and sacrificial.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Toney; son, Mike Carswell; brother, Barry Bailey and sister, Linda Bailey Bostic.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jeff Toney (Lynette) of Inman, Greg Toney (Glenna) of Asheville, NC, Michelle Bolding of Athens, Alabama, Lisa Nelson (Josh) of Denver, NC; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 27th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Providence Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
