Frances Upton Lewis, age 74, of Bostic, NC, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 8, 2019 at her residence.

Frances was born October 6, 1944 in Greenville, SC to the late George William Upton and Dosha Ella Foster Upton. She loved all animals and especially horses. She worked as a horse caretaker for several years and in the pulp wood business with her husband for many years. Frances also enjoyed working for Glassical Heirlooms and was a past member of the Epicenter Church. She loved cooking for others and used her skill to minister to young people as the cook during the summer at Camp Bethlehem.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, James Ledford Lewis and sister, Shirley Wilson.

Those left to treasure her memory include one son, Mark Lewis (Tracy) of Ellenboro; two daughters, Sharon L. Blanton (Dean) of Forest City and Lisa Taylor of Forest City; an aunt, Vivian Inez Foster and uncle, Ted Upton (Betty) all of Shelby and a sister-in-law, Nadine Greenlee. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Angela Michelle Ivey (Clifton), Heather Linette Taylor, Harley Kaylee Self, Summer Briggs, Sierra Rowe, Ches Rowe and nine great-grandchildren, Aaron Taylor, Michael Blanton, Sadie Taylor, Angel Day, Tristan Putnam, Christopher Blanton, Madison Blanton, Amber Briggs, Mia Briggs and many other dear loved ones.

A celebration of Frances’ life will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Epicenter Church with Reverend Joseph H. Dutton and Reverend Ronnie Robbins officiating.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Epicenter Church, 131 Countryside Drive, Forest City, NC 28043.
