Emma Harris

Emma Geraldine 'Penny' Harris, age 62, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Rutherford Hospital.
Penny was born October 11, 1947, to the late Raleigh Cooper and Edna Oliver Cooper. She was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting antiques, cooking, gardening, flower arranging and canning. She worked as a caregiver to the elderly and was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Lee Henderson and a brother, Joe Hoyt Cooper.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Billy Harris of Rutherfordton; one daughter, Paula Dunagin of Rutherfordton; one son, Shannon Harris of Rutherfordton; two sisters, Edith Elliott of Chesnee, SC and Margaret Carr and husband, Donald, of Inman, SC; two brothers, John Cooper and wife, Madge, of Gaffney, SC and Billy Cooper of Spartanburg, SC.
