Dorothy "Dot" Street Tesseneer

Dorothy “Dot” Street Tesseneer, age 92, of Forest City, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at Fairhaven Home of Forest City.

Dot was born Tuesday, February 21, 1933 in Rutherford County to the late Bulo Silvers and Vera Minnie Henderson Silvers. She worked as an inspector for Sonoco Crellin Plastics for many years before retirement. Dot was a current member of Mulls Baptist Church in Shelby and was currently faithfully attending Providence Methodist Church. She was known for her homemaking skills such as cooking and canning for her family. Dot studied and memorized the Bible and had a great knowledge of scripture.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husbands, Joe Street and Maynard Tesseneer; a son, Richard Street; brothers, Otis and Jessie Silvers and sisters, Inez Wall, Betty Hicks and Geraldine Montgomery.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Kenneth Street of Ellenboro; sister, Freida Gillis of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 12th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Michael Harrill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Gantt’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
