Doris Solon

Doris Lee Hastings Solon, age 85, of Sugartown, Louisiana and formerly of Rutherford County, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 in Louisiana.
Doris was born on December 11, 1924 in Rutherford County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening, quilting and taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Hastings; her husband, Maurice Solon; one son, Matthew Solon; one sister, Blanche Murray; two brothers, Corbet Hastings and Paul Wortman.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane Bumgarner Bailey of Conover, NC, Janice Solon of Oklahoma and Karen Cable of California; two sons, Billy Bumgarner of Louisiana and Rubin Solon also of Louisiana; her sister, Vernie Houser of Dobbinsville, NC; two brothers, Jack Hastings of New Kent, VA and Joe Hastings of Albany, GA; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
