Donald Greene

Donald Greene, age 68, of Henrietta, NC, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born October 27, 1945 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Jesse Greene and Ruby Wilson Greene. Donald was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1964 and worked for PPG Industries for forty-two years before retirement. He was a longtime member of Henrietta First Baptist Church and served as an usher. Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-seven years, Cathy Greene; three sons, Darrell Greene of Henrietta, Shannon Green and wife, Sonya of Cliffside and Brandon Greene and wife, Crystal of Henrietta; brother, Jr. Greene and wife, Jenell of Henrietta.
He is also survived by brother-in-law, Bud Blackwell and wife, Martha of Cliffside and sister-in-law, Margaret Stewart of Forest City; four grandchildren, Cody Greene, Caleb Greene, Carsyn Greene, Blake Greene; great-granddaughter, Kaidence Greene and two step-granddaughters, Megan Dobbins and Brooklyn Gettys.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Henrietta First Baptist Church with Reverend Trent Keeton officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
