Donald Ayers

Donald J. Ayers, age 60, of 289 South Main Street, Rutherfordton, NC, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Willow Ridge Nursing Care.
Donald was born July 20, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Edwin Ayers and Elizabeth Weber Ayers. Before his retirement, he worked in maintenance for Our Holy Redeemer Church in Freeport, Long Island, New York. He enjoyed working on cars and was involved in racing earlier in his life. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and a devoted NY Yankees fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Rose Paolantonio.
Survivors include two brother in-laws, Perry R. Paolantonio and wife, Paula of Brattleboro, VT and Danny Paolantonio and wife, Susan of Lynbrook, LI, NY; four nephews, Perry M. Paolantonio and fianc', Megan McManaman, Patrick Paolantonio and wife, Jennie, Danny Paolantonio Jr., Joey Solimano and fianc', Kim Greene. He is also survived by one great-nephew, Jacob and a great-niece, Dorian.
